MACCER HAT-TRICK INSPIRES OUTCASTS

There were two excellent individual performances in the North Lindsey League on June 10th with Outcasts skipper Liam McAnaney taking a hat-trick as the Isle side defeated Grimsby Town in Division One, while Goresh Rehmen hit a spectacular 170 for Everton against Blyth out of a huge total of 261.

DIVISION ONE
Champions Grimsby Town were bowled out for just 52 at Hirst Priory where Liam McAnaney's hat-trick earned him figures of 3 for 14.  the left arm swing bowler being aided by Tom Sharpe who picked up 3 for 19 before Outcasts eased to 53 for 3 thanks to Josh Bramhill who hit 22 not out and Scott Buttrick who made 18. Their first victory takes Outcasts  above Broughton 3rds in the table who posted a totl of 143 all out against Caistor Cougars with Nick Crawford top scoring on 27 before Harry Boulton guided the Cougars to 144 for 1 when scoring an excellent 92 not out.

DIVISION TWO
League leaders Barton Town 4ths were all set to take on Alkborough at Marsh Lane having gone to the middle to toss when the heavens opened to bring procedings to a premature closewhich allowed Hibaldstow to move to within a point of the leaders following their six wicket victory at Messingham who posted a total of 103 all out thanks chiefly to Mark Greenwood who hit 38 with Dale Coy picking up outstanding figures of 4 for 6 and it was he , along with Jon Taylor , that hit 36 each as Hibaldstow responded with 104 for 4. Haxey gained their first win of the 2012 campaign when bowling Cleethorpes 5ths out for 104 at Chichester Road , Joe Scott taking an impressive 6 for 11 as Matty Owen top scored on 40 for the Meggies then Rob Young hit 46 for Danny Bullock's men as the Isle side reached 105 for 8, Lewis Markham taking 3 for 21 for the home side.

RESULT : Hibaldstow 2nds win by 6 wickets

DIVISION THREE
Luddington maintained their unbeaten start to the season when beating Upton cum Kexby by 25 runs out on the Isle , Andy Lawson scoring 40 , Jamie Arrowsmith 38 and Rick Green 28 in their all out total of 154 as Mark Green , Martyn Snell and Toby Roberts each picked up three wickets but some disciplined bowling from the Ludd bowlers meant that the visitors reached 129 for 5 with Haydn Green hitting 29 and John Mattioli 24 , Matthew Mellers bowling 13 overs and taking 1 for 24 whilst Arron Curry bowled 15 overs and took 2 for 44. Normanby Park are enjoying a terrific start to the 2012 campaign and they remain just three points behind Luddington after they beat Broughton 4ths by 32 runs. Mark Knapton scored 43 as they made 118 for 8 , Paul Reed taking 3 for 12 for Broughton who were then bowled out for 86 as Alex Czbanuk took 3 for 9 and Jack Cowling 3 for 11 to enhance their growing reputations. Finally the highest individual score of the season by some distance was achieved by Goresh Rehmen of Everton who hit 170 in their runs fest against Blyth , Everton finishing on 261 all out , although Andy Toft picked up 3 for 39 and Luke Dawson 3 for 63 then Graham Borthwick hit 33 for Blyth who were all out for 86 in reply , Ian Love taking 3 for 12 for the home side.
