SOUTH LINCOLNSHIRE & BORDER LEAGUE

Rain washed
out all but five of the matches in the South Lincolnshire & Border League,
giving Spalding and Stamford Town the opportunity to consolidate
their top two places in Division One.
Both sides
managed to finish their games, leaders Spalding defeating Skegness 2nd
and Stamford beating Sleaford 2nd.
Josh Newton
hit 86 for Spalding in their total of 205 for five and Charlie Kearns then took
five for 26 as the seasiders were out for 126.
And for Stamford , Steve Armstrong took five for 31
to restrict Sleaford to 119 for seven, a total Stamford reached for the loss of six
wickets.
The only
other game completed in this division saw Belton Park moved up the table with
after beating Moulton Harrox – in the remaining three fixtures, despite great
efforts being made by players, groundsmen and umpires, rain won the day.
In Division
Two, Suneel Appan hit 102 as second placed Stamford Town 2nd moved to within
three points of leaders Welby. Stamford made 205 before bowling Baston out
for 120.
Heckington
kept up their challenges with a convincing victory over Cavaliers who were
bowled out for 49, Liam Tunstall taking five wickets.
