DEEPING (28 ALL OUT) TAKE IT ON THE CHIN AGAINST HAXEY

READERS LINCOLNSHIRE ECB PREMIER LEAGUE

June 16 ROUND-UP by ANN BOULTON

Only two games were completed in the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League programme as rain once again washed out games around the county
Both brought movement at the top and bottom of the table – and almost brought Market Deeping an unwanted record.
Ten years ago, Deeping bowled Caistor out for a record low of 24 runs, a total that has stood ever since.  But after Haxey were all out for a meagre 114 at Outgang Road, Chinthaka Perera’s devastating spell of six for 10 saw the home side skittled out for just 28.
This moved Haxey up to third in the table, one ahead of Bracebridge Heath whose game against Grimsby was called off after the Cross O’Cliff Court pitch became waterlogged.
The only other game to be completed saw a change  at the foot of the table where Boston lost out at Sleaford after making 116 for seven.  Matthew Mountain then hit 81 to help his side to an eight wicket win, denying Boston any points.
With bad light ending Hartsholme’s game at Skegness without a result, giving the Lincoln side five points, Boston slipped to last place.
At Woodhall Spa, Louth faced 14 overs before rain stopped play and Lindum v Bourne was cancelled with no play because of the wet conditions.

Results
Haxey 114, Market Deeping 28 (Perera 6-10);
Boston 116-7, Sleaford 117-2 (Mountain 81no);
Skegness 176-9. Hartsholme 86-6 off 39 overs - abandoned, bad light
Louth 45-1 off 14 overs v Woodhall Spa -  abandoned, rain
Bracebridge Heath v Grimsby – cancelled, waterlogged pitch
Lindum v Bourne – cancelled, waterlogged pitch
