CHOCS AWAY FOR LINDE SURPRISE AT GRIMSBY TOWN ON MONDAY

By ANN BOULTON

The second match in the Grimsby Town CC Knock Out next Monday sees the hosts and current trophy holders begin their defence of their title with a match against Lincoln side Nettleham. And in a special guest appearance, a 2011 knock out favourite is set to bring his unique brand of spin to Augusta Street.
George Linde, one of last year’s top wicket takers in the ECB Premier League, will join a strong Grimsby Town side that includes recognised batsmen Richard Antcliffe, Jim Morgan, Harry Warwick and skipper Neal Snell.
Linde’s fellow South African Johannes Disenko, this year’s overseas player for Grimsby, also gets his first taste of Knock Out cricket in a bowling line up featuring Gary Tillison, Carl Taylor and Lee Charlton.
Nettleham formerly played with Grimsby in the Lincs ECB Premier League before being demoted last season into the Lincolnshire League Premier Division, where they are fighting hard for promotion back to the top flight.
Captained by David Manby, Nettleham have their own overseas bowler in Juan Grobbelaar who is currently one of the division’s leading wicket takers.  They are also expected to include at least one guest player in their squad.
The match starts at 6.15 and spectators are welcome.  Entry is free for Grimsby Town CC members and £2 for guests.  There is parking around the ground and food is available throughout the game.
Grimsby Town CC: From - N Snell (capt) R Antcliffe, J Morgan, G Linde, J Diseko, M Cocks, G Tillison, J Wilson, D White, L Charlton, C Taylor, D Wood, J Maddock, S Woolley,  H Warwick.
