BRACEBRIDGE v HAXEY IS PICK OF LINCS ECB GAMES TOMORROW

BY ANN BOULTON

For the second Saturday running, Haxey are involved in the pick of the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League matches.
Having beaten Woodhall Spa last week to go second in the table, Haxey now have to overcome the challenge of third placed Bracebridge Heath tomorrow to retain their position.
Current champions Bracebridge, who are again without skipper Paul Cook through injury, trail their opponents by just one point and are only 11 behind leaders Skegness.
The top team are away at Market Deeping whose batting has let them down in their last two games and the seventh placed side are likely find the going tough against a strong Skegness line-up.
The performances of the top three could also affect Woodhall who have slipped to fourth and need to beat Hartsholme to stay in contention for the top spot.
The Lincoln side moved out of the bottom two last weekend following their first victory of the season but are only one point ahead of Lindum who take on ninth placed Louth at St Giles Avenue.
Along with Market Deeping, Louth have suffered most from the bad weather, losing five games but have two wins under their belt to their opponents’ one.
With the gap widening between bottom place and the teams above them, Boston will be aiming to achieve their first win of 2012 when they entertain Grimsby at the Mayflower Ground.  Despite a run of poor batting performances, Grimsby are in sixth place and go to Boston seeking a big score.
Bourne are in fifth, just 10 ahead of Grimsby and make the short journey to Sleaford for what could be a close match.  Sleaford are only nine points away from a place in the top half of the table and this week welcome a new signing in ex-North Staffordshire League player Garry Park.

Boston v Grimsby
Bracebridge Heath v Haxey
