WORKING ON YOUR BEHALF

The Lincolnshire County Cricket League's Online Results and Registrations Working Party held its first meeting on Monday night, in Brigg, with a mandate from the Executive Committee to prepare a report on the possibility of inputting all scorecards, match results (to generate tables) and registrations onto the league's Play Cricket website, removing the need for scoresheets and paper registration forms.
It was a very constructive meeting, but it would be wrong to reveal any of the discussions, findings or recommendations at this stage through Lincs Cricket Latest.
A report from the Working Party is being prepared for consideration at the mid-July meeting in Market Rasen, in line with the mandate given.
Graham Hackney (Cleethorpes), Mick Barton (Stamford Homes), Andy Sharp (Keelby/League Statistician) and Mark Atkins and Danny Bullock (Haxey) were thanked for giving up their valuable time to attend, and for their positive input.
Graham even brought along his laptop computer and logged onto the ECB's Play Cricket domain so those less familiar with it (me!) could grasp some of the finer points. Meanwhile, Mark had Blackberry in hand!
I struggle with texting on a ordinary mobile phone.
PS Just to make it clear: Nothing can be introduced for this season; scoresheets remain, scores still need to be rung through, and players registered on paper forms.
