The umpires' assocations are requesting all teams taking part in this afternoon's first round ties in the George Marshall Trophy and Bob Welton Cup mark the umpires. In past seasons this has not been the case for cup-ties, but this campaign has seen the introduction of umpires' marks for division one, two, three and four for the first time.
At the April pre-season meeting, the umpires' representatives were asked for their views on whether, or not, marks should be given for cup-ties. The answer was Yes, they would like to see marks given.
