SORRY TO MISS IT

Cricket has indeed returned to Carrside, Epworth, where yesterday's North Lindsey League match with Misterton went ahead, the ground being judged fit for purpose after a long lay-off.
I was hoping to be there to umpire with George Armstrong, from Broughton, but the late lure of a day's paid work proved too much and I had to reluctantly cancel the appointment.
If anyone from the LCB/ECB is reading this, perhaps they might be able to offer some assistance/guidance to Epworth, through the North Lindsey League. It's great to see cricket returning to one of Lincolnshire's most historic locations - Epworth being the birthplace of Methodism, home of the Wesleys, etc.
