Caistor stalwart Wes Allison says his club's catching them young. "On a Friday night we have over 50 kids down for training from the age of eight to 11 - and 12 of them are girls," he explains. The top picture shows some of this enthusiastic bunch with their coaches.
Wes has also forwarded a team line-up of the Caistor U13 B team, and one of Caistor 3rds, who play in Lincolnshire League division four. They are skippered by popular off-spinner Ernie Allison (centre, front) who's one of the most senior seniors in our 50-team county competition. Typical of teams in the lower ranks of the Lincs League, Ern's side is a mixture of youth (keen to learn about the club game) and experience (willing to pass on a few tips and offer advice). Having to share a ground with the 1sts (Lincs League premier) and the 2nds (division two) means Ern's team don't often get the chance to play at home on a Saturday, with the majority of Brigg Road fixtures being rescheduled for Sundays and bank holiday Mondays.
