MESSINGHAM CATERING IS HOT

The teas served up at Messingham for yesterday's George Marshall Trophy first round tie with South Kelsey were of the very highest standard, including hot chunky sausages, chips, pasta, salad, gateaux ...You name it!
The general standard of catering at club matches, in our opinion, is now very high indeed. And not just in the Lincs League.
The days of long ago when you sometimes sat in the sweaty confines of the changing rooms to nibble on a couple of butties are long gone.
Often, clubs provide a gift at the end of the season as a thank-you to those on the catering rota. But it would be good to see the tea ladies (and men) rewarded for their efforts on a wider front. Perhaps with trophies from the respective leagues. Of course there would have to be some way of judging. Usually, finding folk to carry out any administrative tasks proves difficult. But in this case we could imagine many in local cricket forming an orderly queue to volunteer for duty!
