ASIA TROPHY MAN IN GAINSBOROUGH
Bassetlaw League Marshalls CC, from Gainsborough, are pleased to announce the signing of 22-year-old Nadeem Ahmed, from Hong Kong. He is described as a quick left-arm spinner and middle-order batsman and hopes are high that he can help move the club to the next level.
Nadeem arrives with vast experience, having already made five ODI appearances and in April was leading wicket-taker in the Asia Trophy. He also appeared in two first-class matches in the ICC Intercontinental Cup, taking three wickets. He has some big names among his victims, including Pakistan batsmen Mohammad Yousuf and India's Gautam Gambhir.
A spokesman sid: "Many within the club have worked extremely hard over the winter months to bring in a player of this calibre to the club. And we hope now to send a statement to the rest of the league of serious intentions to achieve promotion in the near future."
Nadeem is now installed as senior club coach and has already started working with senior players, offering advice.
