Grimsby Town 3rds, who made a very convincing start to their North Lindsey League division two season by winning at Haxey 3rds on Sunday. All-rounder Rob Smith skippered Town 3rds in Lincs League division two, and when they switched to the Lindsey League lifted them to promotion in 2009. He's now stepped down and Darrel Burchall (centre, front row) has taken over. As you can see, it's chiefly a young team with a few older heads, including Richard Evans, who was in fine form with the ball in this game played in very chilly conditions in the Isle of Axholme. We also took a piccy of the Haxey lads and will share that with you at a later date.
Grimsby 3rds' squad: D Burchall (capt), A Grainger (wkt), C Hawkins (U18), B Volley (U17), R Mahesh, P Freeman (U17), M Hinchliff, R Evans, J McGregor (U18), C Edwards, C Welsh, 12th man A Reid (U16).
