SKEGGY RISE TO TOP OF TABLE

READERS LINCOLNSHIRE ECB PREMIER LEAGUE

May 26 - round-up by Ann Boulton

Skegness and Woodhall Spa leapfrogged over Haxey at the top of the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League after the leaders went down to a seven wicket defeat.
And Hartsholme were consigned to joint last place in the table after 18 year old Harry Warwick scored his maiden ECB Premier League century to help Grimsby to 20 points.
Batting first at Louth, Haxey fell victim to Louth skipper Andy Carrington who took six wickets then saw his team reach their target of 164 – of which Graeme Attenborough hit 84 -  for the loss of only three wickets, Arran Brindle returning to the side to score 41 and Jason Collinson making 62.
Skegness also looked in danger at 90 for six, chasing Lindum’s total of 165 but Tony Santini and Paul Butler dug in for an unbeaten stand and with the scores level, Santini hit the winning four to take his individual total to 52 not out.
Woodhall kept up their challenge, finishing on 248 for eight at London Road, thanks to the day’s second century from Ricky Lovelace who made 106 and Ben O’Brien who hit 58.  Sleaford were then bowled out for 124 to leave the visitors just three points behind their seasider rivals.
Bracebridge Heath also have a three points deficit, trailing Haxey in fourth place after Brett Houston’s 66 helped their total to 183 for nine against Boston who were then bowled out for 83.
Boston now share last place in the table with Hartsholme who were all out for 159 at Grimsby.  After losing Jim Morgan early in the innings, Warwick’s unbeaten 113 off 141 balls, helped the home side to a nine wicket win.
Bourne now share fifth place with Grimsby after coming out on the right side of a draw in their local derby against Market Deeping.
Playing at Abbey Lawn, Bourne hit the day’s top team total of 263 for eight, Conrad Louth with 87 and Ben Stroud 51.  But Deeping hung on to pick up 10 points, Josh Bowers making 75 as the innings finished on 207 for nine, Robbie Gow Kleinschmidt taking five wickets for Bourne.
