LINDLEY'S 70 SEES STEELMEN HOME

After weeks of inactivity due to the wet conditions around the county, several of our local clubs finally took to the field in the North Lindsey Cricket League on Sunday to get their season up and running at last.

DIVISION ONE
Barton Academy Vikings' game with Outcasts 3rds and Scunthorpe 4ths v Grimsby Town 3rds will be played later in the season once Marsh Lane and Heslam Park have had the chance to dry out further so there was just one game in the top flight and that saw Appleby Frodingham 3rds beat Caistor Cougars by five wickets thanks chiefly to Kieran Lindley who scored 70 not out as the Steelmen eased to 109 for 5 having been set a target of 108 for 6 by the Cougars.
BARTON ACADEMY VIKINGS  v  OUTCASTS 3RDS  To be rearranged.
SCUNTHORPE TOWN 4THS  v  GRIMSBY TOWN 3rds  To be rearranged.
CAISTOR COUGARS  v  APPLEBY FRODINGHAM 3rds: Cougars  108 for 6, App-Frod  109 for 5  (K Lindley 70 not out ).


DIVISION TWO
Haxey 3rds and visiting Alkborough 3rds held a minutes silence before they began their game on the Isle in memory of Alkborough stalwart Harry Baldwin who sadly passed away recently. The North Lindsey League would also like to offer their most sincere condolences to Harry's family and to the Alkborough club. His presence will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
As for the match Haxey were bowled out for 99 with Mark Parkin top scoring on 24, Jake Astle taking 3 for 30 before Dave Kilgallon hit 28 and Paul Mitchell 28 not out as Alkborough beat an undermanned Haxey side. Hibaldstow 2nds beat newly promoted Misterton 2nds by seven wickets, bowling the Nottinghamshire side out for 73 thanks to Carl Nazareth who took 5 for 22 and Dale Coy who finished with 4 for 18 and it was Coy who guided Hibaldstow home when scoring 24 not out in their total of 74 for 3, Darren Emmingham picking up 2 for 29 for Misterton. The other Division Two game saw Messingham 3rds beat Barton Town 4ths by six wickets, the Humbersiders being bowled out for 61 before Tom MacDougall's 28 not out earned Messinghm the three points in a total of 64 for 4.
HAXEY 3rds  v  ALKBOROUGH 3rds: Haxey  99 all out ( M Parkin 24  J Astle 3 for 30) Alkborough : 105 for 2  ( D Kilgallon 28, P Mitchell 28 not out).
HIBALDSTOW 2nds  v  MISTERTON 2nds: Misterton  73 all out  ( P Snow 20,  C Nazareth 5 for 22,  D Coy  4 for 18), Hibaldstow : 74 for 3  ( D Coy 24 not out   D Emmingham 2 for 29.
MESSINGHAM 3rds  v  BARTON TOWN 4ths: Barton  61 all out, Messingham : 64 for 4 ( T MacDougall 28 not out ).

DIVISION THREE
There was just one game in Division Three and that brought a 91 runs victory for Luddington at Everton 3rds where Andy Lawson hit 50 and Graham Clark 23 in Ludd's total of 164 all out , Richard Chambers taking 4 for 25 and Ian Love 4 for 52 for the home side and Chambers top scored with 19 in Everton's reply of 73 all out, Arron Curry picking up 3 for 28 for the Isle side.
EVERTON 3rds v  LUDDINGTON: Luddington : 164 all out ( A Lawson 50 ; G Clark 23,  R Chambers 4 for 25, I Love 4 for 52), Everton : 73 all out  (A Curry 3 for 28).
