SO THAT'S WHERE THEY GO IN THE WINTER

You could have organised the best part of a cricket team among visiting supporters during last night's football match in Nottingham between Forest and Scunthorpe United - just from those sitting a few rows from each other in the same stand.
In addition to 'yours truly' I spied Willie McVey, whose clubs include Bottesford, Brigg and Scunthorpe Town; Mike Newton, ex-Foxhills, West Butterwick and Bottesford; John Danson, Brigg and Bottesford, ex-Scunthorpe Town and West Butterwick; Dave Willey, Bottesford and Brigg; Roger Bonnett, ex-Broughton. Plus Patrick Taylor, current Scunthorpe panel umpire, and I think Rex Bell, who used to stand in Minor Counties matches.
Wasn't wearing my best glasses - and he was a long way off - but there could also have been Nick Crawford, the Broughton batsman.
And wasn't current Iron boss Nigel Adkins on the playing strength of South Kelsey CC in recent years....?
