From Glen Sands, Luddington CC
You mentioned about cows stopping play at East Halton and the same applied at Hirst Courney in a Snaith & District Evening League match a few years ago when Luddington had just joined the league. Jon Bramhill hit a towering six into the nearby field and started a stampede when the ball smacked a cow on the section popularly known to butchers as the rump!
It was a bit scary at first as the herd galloped around in a frenzy but fortunately the fencing around the quaint little ground stood firm and the game continued with the cattle settled at the far end of the field where even Bram couldn't reach them.
