DISGRACEFUL DAMAGE

South Kelsey Cricket Club, with two teams in the Lincolnshire League, has suffered a major blow with up to £2,000 damage caused to facilities.
Secretary Mike Owen wants Lincs Cricket Latest to warn other club officials.
He explains: "On the 13th October our groundsman found that a break-in had occurred at our pavilion at Lysaght's, Holton-le-Moor. The outer door had been hacked down and all areas searched. The internal door to the new hot water cylinder had also been cut open. The water pipes feeding to the cylinder had been crudely hacked away and the cylinder removed. The person, or persons, involved also entered the tea room adjacent to the pavilion. The cylinder was then dragged over the pitch to be transported away. A toolbox was also taken.
"The pavilion was upgraded last year (including the shower system) following our promotion to the Premier Division and is very upsetting to members. The total cost of damage/water system could be as much as £2,000. This comes after a similar break-in two years ago when a cylinder was also hacked away and stolen. We changed from a diesel hot water system to electric, as the diesel tank was constantly been drained by thieves.
"The police at Caistor are involved, but if anyone has any information that might bring those responsible to justice could they please let me know and I will pass the information to the police. I can be contacted on 07775906999."
We are sure everyone in local cricket will sympathise with Mike, first team skipper Lol Waghorn and all our other good friends at South Kelsey and hope Lincolnshire Police are able to catch the offender(s) and bring them to justice.
