SOUTH LINCS & BORDER ROUND-UP BY ANN BOULTON

There was no change at the top of the South Lincolnshire & Border League Premier Division as Boston and Billingborough both picked up the same number of points in their victories over Woodhall Spa 2nd and Stamford Town respectively.
Four points still separate the two while Bourne 2nd stay third despite losing to Lindum Ramblers by just eight runs and Stamford are just four behind Bourne after an even tighter game which saw Billingborough win by just three runs.
Tom Baxter took five wickets as Boston restricted Woodhall to 157 for eight and went on to win by six wickets while Billingborough made 207 for seven only to see Stamford fight their way to 204 for nine before the overs ran out.
Angus Pickering and Reece Brant were the top wicket takers in this division, Pickering with seven for 26 for Lindum Ramblers and Brant seven for 25 for Skegness in their win over Moulton Harrox.
Jon Howard hit the day’s only century as Baston beat Market Deeping 2nd to stay second in Division One alongside Friskney – newly promoted this season – whose win over Moulton Harrox Sunday has put them on equal terms with Baston.
But at the top of the table, Long Sutton have built a massive 47 point lead after a nine wicket win over Spalding 2nd.
Division Two also saw a seven wicket haul, John Begley claiming seven for 28 in Lindum 3rd’s victory over Burgh & District.  And Ian Morris took six for 22 for leaders Long Sutton 2nd who beat Timberland by four wickets to lie 17 points ahead of Cavaliers who claimed a nine wicket win over Welby 2nd.
Rob Simpson has now topped 40 wickets for Long Sutton 2nd while James Wright has 37 for Long Sutton 1st XI in Division One.
