The focus of attention in the Snaith League on July 11th was in Division Two where joint leaders Howden Town and Carlton Towers went head to head and it was the former who have now opened up a three points lead with a game in hand to boot.

Eggborough are just a point behind Carlton now after they gained a nail biting victory at Sykehouse where they hit 139 for 6 thanks in the main to Drew Pearson's 46 , Chris Marshall taking 3 for 32 for the home side who fell just four runs short when chasing their target , James Davies scoring 50 not out with Scott Tyson taking an important 3 for 41 for the Power Station side. SNAITH LEAGUE DIVISION ONEThere was no change at the top of Division One as the top two won by default , Burn failing to field a team against Goole Town whilst the same applied to Airmyn against Fishlake so the headlines were taken by Oliver Coulman of Outcasts who scored a superb 105 not out against Hirst Courtney in the Isle sides 180 for 2 which proved enough to beat Hirst by 36 runs , although Phil Alford ( 35 ) Craig Lawson ( 36 ) and Osbourne ( 30 ) all batted well to keep Outcasts on their toes. Finally Hensall , like Burn , are now in the last chance saloon following their deafeat against Askern Welfare which leaves them needing to win all three remaining games now to have any hope of avoiding the drop. They were bowled out for 95 by Askern who then eased to 98 for 3 thanks to Ashley Towler's 38 not out and 33 from Max Hudson.

The Arthur Brant Trophy Final between Carlton Towers and Eggborough will take place at Goole Town's ground on July 15th whilst the next round of league fixtures will see a repeat of the Snaith League Shield Final when Goole Town head to Outcasts looking to maintain top spot. Fishlake are just two points behind Goole and will hope to keep up the pressure when they play hosts to Hensall who simply must win to avoid the drop. The same applies to Burn who entertain Hirst Courtney and finally Askern Welfare are at home against Airmyn in a mid table pairing.Howden won't have an easy ride against Thorne Colliery but a win will enhance their promotion hopes whilst Eggborough take on lowly Drax Village looking to climb into second spot on the table.
