Four wickets
in four balls for Haffit Mazhar ensured that Boston stayed top of the South
Lincolnshire & Border League.
The 16 year
old bowler claimed a wicket with the last ball of his seventh over and three at
the start of his eighth as Belton Park were bowled out for 95, a total Boston overtook for the loss of three
wickets.
Billingborough
also picked up 20 points to stay four behind the leaders in a higher scoring
game against Bourne who were all out for 206. Luke Hollingworth then hit 94 as
Billingborough went on to win by three wickets.
Stamford
moved back into third place after Liam Dave’s 108 took their total to 281 for
seven before Steve Armstrong took five wickets to help bowl Lindum Ramblers out
for 107.
In
mid-table, Grantham claimed a 10 wicket win over Sleaford 2nd, Adam
Parker taking six for 26 and Martin Parmley scoring an unbeaten 60 while at the
bottom of the table, Moulton Harrox recorded a welcome victory over Woodhall
Spa 2nd to stay in touch with the teams above them.
Division
One’s top three all won, Long Sutton beating Market Deeping 2nd,
Baston getting the better of Billingborough 2nd, with Tim Dyer
taking six wickets and Guy Cunningham hitting an unbeaten and Friskney scoring
a 63 run win over Heckington for whom Chris Morley took six wickets.
Neil
Williams was the division’s only century maker, hitting 118 of Stamford ’s 237 for seven against Moulton
Harrox who reached 142 for seven at the close.
Stamford lie fourth but have two games in hand on the top three.
Long Sutton
2nd and Cavaliers continue their battle at the top of Division Two,
the leaders scoring a slender one wicket win over Grantham 2nd in a
bowlers’ match that saw Rob Simpson take five wickets for Sutton and Alex
Kettle take six for Grantham, while Cavaliers beat Frieston by 52 runs.
