SNAITH
LEAGUE DIVISION ONEIt looks like it will go to the wire in Division One
as Goole Town and Fishlake continue to slug it out for the title. Town gained an
eight wicket win at Outcasts who made 117 for 7 when batting first with Spud
Tait hitting 36 and Josh Bramhill 32 before Ashton Nottingham guided Goole to
their target with 60 but Fishlake remain just two points behind following their
seven wicket win over Hensall for whom defeat sadly spells relegation. They set
a score of 98 for 8 only for Tim Elliot to make 45 in Fishlake's 102 for 3. Burn
live to fight another day after they beat HirstCourtney by eleven runs , scoring
133 for 8 thanks in the main to Montgomery who hit 39 and Calvert who made 37 ,
Wilde picking up 3 for 11 for Hirst who were bowled out for 122 , Wilde scoring
28 and Craig Lawson 25 as man of the match Montgomery took an impressive 5 for
12. Finally in Division One Airmyn had a 28 runs victory at Askern Welfare where
Phil Sparkes hit 53 and Kingsland 49 in Airmyn's score of 163 for 5 before Nick
Bisby top scored with 60 as Askern were bowled out for 135 , with Clarke taking
an impressive 5 for 10 for the visitors.
SNAITH LEAGUE DIVISION
TWOThings are really hotting up in the race for promotion in Division
Two with just three points seperating the top four sides. Leaders Howden
suffered a home defeat to Thorne Colliery , making 87 for 7 with 40 from Toby
Bodycombe only for Thorne to ease to 91 for 3 thanks to 42 not out from Langdale
and 37 from Walton and that loss allowed Eggborough to move into second place ,
just one point behind Howden with two games remaining , Eggborough setting a
target of 151 for 3 with 59 not out from Drew Pearson and 46 not out from Colin
Tyson then restricting Drax to 114 for 6 , Edwards hitting an exceptional 76 not
out while Scott Tyson took 3 for 17. The other scheduled game in Division Two
saw Sykehouse awarded the points against Pollington who were unable to field a

The season reaches the penultimate week on
July 25th and there are several issues still to be decided. In Division One
leaders Goole Town enterain Askern Welfare at Westfields in what could be a
tricky encounter whilst Fishlake head to Outcasts looking to take the title race
to the final week. Burn take on Hensall needing a win to stave off relegation
and finally there is a mid table clash between Airmyn and Hirst
Courtney. The big game in Division Two is a repeat of the Arthur Brant
Trophy as Eggborough play Carlton Towers in a vital fixture whilst leaders
Howden could clinch promotion if they can beat Sykehouse and results go their
way elsewhere. Thorne Colliery travel to Drax in the knowledge that they too
could go a long way to ensuring a top two spot should they pick up three
points.
