GRIMSBY TOWN KNOCKOUT UPDATE

BY ANN BOULTON

Following a third failed attempt to play the the final first round match in the Grimsby Town Knock Out, next week sees the competition revert to the original programme.
The first semi-final between Grimsby Town and Louth will take place as planned on Monday 16th while Thursday 19th is the revised date for the abandoned game between Fenner and Caistor.
Louth won through to the semis at the expense of Cleethorpes, Matt Crowther and Arran Brindle starring with the bat with 56 and 63 respectively, while Tom Corden took three wickets.
Trophy holders Grimsby had a tighter game against Nettleham but Gary Tillison’s six wickets saw them through by 15 runs.
Three days later, Fenner and Caistor will play for a place in the second semi-final against Lincolnshire Cavaliers who were involved in an exciting one run win over Messingham.
All matches start at 6.15pm.  Entry is free for Grimsby Town members and £2 for non-members and there is parking round the ground.
