CHARITY MATCH IN MEMORY OF BRIAN EVANS AT GRIMSBY TOWN

A charity cricket match is to be played at the Augusta Street ground of Grimsby Town CC on Sunday, August 12 (1pm) in aid of the St Andrew's Hospice.
Grimsby Town 1st X1 will be playing The J. Brian Evans Cavaliers.
Admission is free and refreshments will be available on the ground.
For further information, contact Lynne Lemon, community fundraiser for the Hospice, on 01472 350908 or David Evans on 07984098114.
The club is expecting a large crowd to support this special fixture, which is being organised by Harry Warwick.
The postcode for those living outside North East Lincolnshire, who may be unsure of the location of the ground, is DN34 4TX.
Many of us in local cricket enjoyed the company of Brian Evans over many, many years - on and off the field. Latterly, he was a long-serving umpire on the Grimsby and District Panel. He was groundsman at Ross Group and a notable player with the club. Prior to that, of course, he played many years for Glamorgan in his native Wales.
