PREVIEW by Ann Boulton
The top two bowlers in the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League go head to head on Saturday when second placed Bourne, for whom Fahad Masood has taken 56 wickets, travel to Grimsby who are fourth and will be hoping spinner George Linde can add to his 55 victims.
However, all eyes will also be on the foot of the table, where bottom side Nettleham are at home to 11th placed Woodhall Spa. Despite being well adrift on points, Nettleham will be going all out to register their first victory of the season while Woodhall will be making every effort to escape from the bottom two.
The middle of the table also promises to provide some interesting matches as sixth place Lindum entertain Sleaford who are just two points behind them. Both teams have played some very good cricket but fluctuating results have seen them fail to reach the heights they achieved in 2010.
Below them, Hartsholme and Market Deeping are on equal points, with Deeping in eighth by virtue of more wins, something Hartsholme will aim to change when the two meet at Ashby Avenue.
Leaders Bracebridge Heath take on fifth placed Louth at Cross O’Cliff Court and Paul Cook will be looking for maximum points from his side after two defeats and a draw allowed the chasing pack to close the gap.
Boston’s Paul Timby will be tossing up with a new captain when his team travel to Skegness where they will attempt to regain second place. Former skipper Wade McCall has taken over temporarily with the intention of reversing the fortunes of the seasiders who have slipped to 10th in the table, just 14 ahead of Woodhall.
