NEIL HITS DAY'S ONLY TON

By Ann Boulton

Results went mainly to form in South Lincolnshire & Border League Division One where the top four teams all recorded victories.
Bourne 2nd put in an improved performance but fell 31 runs short of leaders Billingborough’s score with nine wickets down while Stamford 2nd overcame Lindum Ramblers who were bowled out for 175, chasing 234.
Belton Park, who are third, scored a six wicket win over Boston 2nd while Spalding beat Market Deeping by eight wickets.
It was the same story in Division Two where leaders Skegness beat Heckington by eight wickets, second placed Cavaliers got the better of Peterborough rivals Thomas Cook, Stamford 2nd scored a convincing win over Boston 3rd and Spalding 2nd came out on top against bottom side Ropsley.
Neil Williams hit the day’s only century with 101 for Stamford 2nd, for whom Ben Peck then took five wickets. Fifth placed Welby kept up their challenge after Jonathan Durham took six wickets in their victory over Billingborough 2nd.
And on Sunday, Sam Elliott had a good day for Heckington, hitting 55 and taking seven for 14 as his side beat Sleaford Sunday in a low scoring game.
Baston continue to threaten the top two in Division Three following their nine wicket win over Timberland while second placed North Luffenham also won by nine wickets against Claypole. But leaders Moulton Harrox Sunday were pegged back after torrential rain forced the abandonment of their game when Spalding 3rd were 31 overs into their innings, chasing Moulton’s 185.
