It was “as you were” at the top
of South Lincolnshire & Border League Premier Division as Stamford
Town, Boston and Billingborough all won, Stamford recording the day’s highest
score of 276 for seven before bowling Skegness 2nd out for 113. Liam Dave made 137 of the Stamford
score, the day’s only century maker.
Boston score a five wicket win in a low scoring game against Lindum
Ramblers after Paul Deans had taken six Lindum wickets but Billingborough were
denied 20 points after they were unable to bowl Sleaford 2nd
out. Sleaford made 119 for nine, a total
Billingborough overtook for the loss of four wickets.
Welby claimed a welcome victory, beating Belton Park by
44 runs to consign their opponents to bottom place in the division.
Long Sutton extended their lead at the top of Division One, picking up 15
points in their game against Boston that
was eventually abandoned. Challengers
Baston meanwhile were called off very early in the match against Spalding.
Newly promoted Friskney moved into third following victory over
Blankney while Moulton Harrox Sunday are in bottom place after losing to
Heckington.
In Division Two, Long Sutton 2nd gained ground on Claypole –
whose game was abandoned – after defeating Spalding 3rd by four
wickets and Cavaliers kept up their challenge with a 26 run win over
Timberland.
