BLYTH SPIRIT TO BE RECOMMENDED
On Sunday we paid our very first cricketing visit to Blyth (North Notts) and were very impressed by the warm welcome, the warm weather and the pretty ground - something of a cross between Brocklesby Park and Elsham. You are talking a lengthy trip from home in Brigg to get to Blyth, and it was likewise for the visiting team, Caistor. The North Lindsey League these days covers a huge geographical area, from Cleethorpes and Grimsby in the east, right inland to Nottinghamshire. And to think that, years ago, we used to grumble a bit about having to make one trip a season to Gainsborough to play Holy Trinity (just a few yards beyond the Trent bridge). Not to be confused with the other Trent Bridge!
