The two
Snaith & District Evening League Cup competitions reached the Semi Final
stages on June 17th and they produced some big scores and a couple of close
finishes, WRITES GLEN SANDS.
SNAITH LEAGUE SHIELD SEMI FINALSGoole Town booked their
place in the Final and remain on track for a League and Cup double when they
beat Burn by 72 runs. Ash Nottingham hit 101 not out and Lee Hayward 68 as they
racked up 208 for 1 before Burn replied with 136 for 4 , Jamie Bingle scoring 57
and Montgomery 49 for the home side whilst in the other Semi Outcasts squeezed
home against Hirst Courtney by 21 runs , setting a target of 115 for 7 with 30
from Josh Bramhill and 24 from Matt Parsons 24 before restricting Hirst to 94
for 8 with spinner Scott Buttrick taking 4 for 14 to help the Isle side through
to the Final scheduled for July 7th at a venue to be decided.

RESULT : OUTCASTS win by 21 runs
ARTHUR
BRANT TROPHY SEMI FINALSCarlton Towers won their Semi Final clash with
Pollington who scored 134 for 8 with Lawson hitting 64 and Slater 52 with Boddye
picking up 3 for 29 for the home side who then replied with 135 for 4 to clinch
a place in the Final on July 14th , Hoe top scoring with 42. Their opponents
will be Eggborough who beat Thorne Colliery by just three runs in a nail biter ,
Col Tyson hitting 20 in their total of 85 for 7 before Thorne finished
agonisingly short on 82 for 9 , Luke Cockburn top scoring on 19. The venue for
the Final has yet to be announced.
