All
seven scheduled games for Thursday June 13th were played despite the heavy rain
and thunderstorms that hit the region in the afternoon which is a testament to
everyone for their vigilance to get the games under way.
SNAITH LEAGUE
DIVISION ONEGoole Town remain two points clear at the top of the First
Division when they restricted lowly Hensall to 109 for 3 before easing to 110
for 1 with recent recruit Steve Smith hitting 56 but Fishlake are still hot on
their heels following their 56 runs victory over Hirst Courtney where David
Johnson hit 81 , Tim Elliott 42 and Kev Pearson 38 in their total of 169 for 3
before bowling Hirst out for 113 despite a defient 48 from Craig Lawson.
Outcasts good start top the season has hit the buffers as they were beaten again
, this time at Airmyn where they were bowled out for 83 , Harry Clark taking 3
for 11 for the home side who then cruised to 86 for 2 with 30 not out from
Richard Stevens which brought the teams level on points in the table along with
Askern Welfare who gained a 10 wicket victory at Burn who made 95 for 8 before
being comfortably overhauled by Askern.
SNAITH LEAGUE DIVISION
TWOFollowing the exclusion of Goole Firemen from the league due to non
fulfilment of fixtures Division Two clubs have all been awarded six points
across the board for the games they would have played against thembut on the
playing side there are now joint leaders at the top of the table following
previous leaders Howden having lost to challenging Eggborough. It was the Power
Station side who batted first , making 104 for 8 with Drew Pearson top scoring
on 19 and Eden backing him up with 16 , Marshall taking 3 for 10 for Howden who
then replied with 69 for 9 as that man Eden picked up 3 for 9 with Scott Tyson
and Dowson taking two each to clinch an important win. Carlton Towers share top
spot with Eggborough following a thrilling two runs victory over Sykehouse ,
Scott Woffinden and Lister hitting 35 in Carlton's total of 105 for 6 with
Richard Hill picking up 3 for 14 for Sykehouse who then fell a tantalising two
runs short in their chase despite 36 from Oli Jackson , Dawson taking 3 for 13
for Carlton who squeezed home. Finally Thorne Colliery's good season continued
as they beat Polloington to climb into joint second place with Howden , holding
Pollington to 114 for 5 as Paul Baker hit 31 not out along with Paul Freeman who
made 28 then C Broughton guided Thorne to 115 for 6 when hitting 40 not out ,
Freeman picking up 3 for 38 to keep the home side in the hunt.

June 17th
is the scheduled date for the two Cup competitions with Burn hosting Goole Town
and Outcasts playing Hirst Courtney on the Isle in the Snaith League Shield
whilst in the Arthur Brant Trophy Thorne Colliery are home to Eggborough and
Carlton Towers play hosts to Pollington.June 20th sill see Division One
leaders Goole look to maintain their unbeaten record when they travel to Hirst
Courtney and second placed Fishlake , who are also unbeaten , welcome Askern
Welfare who are beginning to recover from a slow start. Airmyn , fresh from a
good win over Outcasts take on bottom of the table Hensall whilst finally the
aforementioned Outcasts play hosts to Burn whom they beat on the opening day of
the season back in May.
Game of the day in Division Two is at Carlton
Towers who take on a resurgent Thorne Colliery side and joint leaders Eggborough
head to Pollington looking to maintain their good form whilst the one other
Division Two game is at Drax where Sykehouse are the visitors.
