PREVIEW BY ANN BOULTON
An
excellent match is the prospect on Monday, June 17 as two strong teams contest the latest match in
the Grimsby Town Knock Out.
In a repeat
of last year’s first round fixture, Lincolnshire Cavaliers take on Messingham –
and in 2012 just one run separated the two teams, with Cavaliers coming out the
winners.
Andy
Langford brings a Messingham team that features a number of new faces and
several familiar ones.
Cameron
first came to England as a 16 year old, playing for
Messingham in 2010. Since then he has
seen success as a member of New Zealand ’s U19 World Cup team and is
currently playing in the Huddersfield League.
Nick White,
Paul Taylor and Danny Rands are well known to knock out fans but a new name is
Dale Coy, who moved from Haxey to play for Messingham this season.
They will
be up against a number of highly experienced knock out players led by Lindum
all-rounder Karanjit Bansal. With him
are team mates Jon Miller and Luke Robinson while ECB Premier League award
winning wicketkeeper Jack Hughes from Woodhall Spa is behind the stumps.
Ben
O’Brien, also Woodhall, plays alongside Market Rasen’s Graeme Bell and Matt
Rutherford while the Webb brothers, Matt and Tom bring with them Jonny Reynolds
from their club Baildon. Completing the
line-up is Kristian Adams.
The match
starts at 6.15pm . Entry is £2 (free
for Grimsby Town members)
