MESSINGHAM GO TOP

Messingham 3rds took over at the top of the North Lindsey League First Division league table with a tremendous 5 wicket victory over Barton Town 3rds in a game that produced over 450 runs ! Barton batted first , making 227 all out thanks to overseas star McInerney who hit 80 and Elliott Sampson who contributed 72 , Tom McDougall taking 4 for 20 for Messingham who replied with 231 for 5 , that man McDougal scoring 44 not out although it was another overseas player Cameron Fletcher who top scored with a very imressive 113. Previous leaders Cleethorpes 5ths were beaten for the first time this season when Appleby Frodingham 3rds upset the form book at Brumby Hall. The Steelmen posted a score of 272 for 4 with 79 from Matt Fowler , 55 from John Heath and 47 not out from Jack Dixon then the Meggies were bowled out for 148 despite the best efforts of their skipper N Judah who scored 55 , Liam Grimes taking 3 for 22 to clinch Frod's first Sunday league win in 2010. The one other Division One game saw Marshalls Sports gain their first win of the campaign when comfortably beating Scunthorpe 4ths by 72 runs , Alverson hitting 110 for Sports in their total of 240 for 5 before another overseas player produced the goods , namely N Ahmed who took 7 for 17 for Marshalls.

DIVISION TWO
Wheatley & Leverton climbed from the foot of the Second Division table to third following their hard fought victory over Outcasts in what was another high scoring match. Jamie Belton hit 40 , Charles Mason 26 and Russell Fletcher 25 not out as Outcasts made 210 for 8 , Wheatley's John Sizer taking 3 for 31 and it was he who starred with the bat too , hitting 81 aong with Harrison who made 48 as they overhauled the Outcasts total for the loss of seven wickets , Liam McAnaney taking 4 for 54 for the Priorymen. Hibaldstow 2nds moved out of the bottom two places when beating Brigg Town 3rds by 58 runs , Simon Pullan hitting 60 and Jon Taylor 36 in their score of 177 , Tom Brock taking 5 for 59 then Brigg were dismissed for 119 , Jack Siddall hitiing 35 whilst Carl Nazareth took 3 for 16 for Hibaldstow.

DIVISION THREE
Skipper Jeremy Evans made a terrific 100 not out as Barton Academy Vikings posted a total of 224 for 3 , Lewis Barnes adding 47 for the Acadamy side who then went on to bowl Bottesford out for 78 , league Chairman Dave Willey top scoring for them with 17. Luddington remain level top with the Vikings after they beat Everton 3rds by 6 wickets on the Isle , bowling the Gainsborough team out for 123 thanks chiefly to Old Goole stalwart Barry O'Brien who took 5 for 51 and Arron Curry who finished things off with 3 for 28 then easing to victory via 45 from Andy Lawson and 33 from Darren Clark. Finally Upton cum Kexby appear to be getting to grips with matters now in the North Lindsey League as their youngsters gained a very good 27 runs victory over Misterton 2nds , List hitting 44 and Shaun Metcalf 25 in a total of 153 for 7 before keeping Misterton down to 126 for 8 despite the best efforts of Tim Sharpe who top scored with 61.
