FIVE POINTS CLEAR OF LUDD

Fishlake took a giant step towards winning the Snaith & District Evening League First Division title when emphatically beating Sykehouse by 9 wickets to move five points clear of 2009 champions Luddington who were without a game. Sykehouse were bowled out for 109 by the champions-elect who then eased to 112 for 1 with in-form Josh Mason hitting 60 and Teasdale 36 leaving them in pole position at the top of the table. Askern's poor form continued when they were beaten by lowly Goole Town who bowled Welfare out for 94 before replying with 96 for 4 and that result saw Town move to within a point of Burn at the foot of the table as they were beaten by neighbouring Drax Village, Burn posting a score of 125 thanks in the main to R Webster who scored 47 only for Drax to reach their target for the loss of just three wickets, S Reeves guiding them home with an unbeaten 58.

Division Two

Leaders Hensall suffered only their second defeat of the season when going down by 43 runs at Hirst Courtney who hit 160 for 4 when batting first at their picturesque ground , B Howard scoring 50 added to by A Hinch ( 39 ) and N Emery ( 33 ) and despite the best efforts of P Bestington ( 30 ) Hensall were reduced to 117 for 9 in reply , Craig Lawson picking up 3 for 24 and S Hinch 3 for 13 for Hirst. Second placed Sturgethorpe failed to capitalise on Hensall's slip as they also suffered a defeat , being beaten by lowly Carlton Towers who set a target of 132 for 7 thanks chiefley to Mark Holmes 43 before Sturgethorpe were bowled out for 86 all out , Thornton taking 3 for 9 for Carlton. Goole Firemen beat Howden Town in the other Division Two match.

Division Three
It's beginning to look very good for Airmyn in Division Three following the latest results , Airmyn winning a low scoring game at Thorne Colliery whilst second placed Pollington were beaten at lowly Drax Village 2nds. James Stewart hit 31 for Thorne who set a total of 70 all out against Airmyn for whom Bramham took 3 for 16 and it was Holah who guided the league leaders home with an unbeaten 28 as they squeezed to 72 for 5 , Appleby taking 3 for 9 for Colliery. That takes Airmyn six points clear at the top after Pollington were bowled out for just 43 at Drax , Chris Calvert taking 3 for 6 and Daz Lawson 3 for 16 before Coulbeck made 23 not out as Drax cruised to 45 for 1.
