FROM ANN BOULTON
Andy Hewitt
took five Belton Park wickets for 19 runs in Boston ’s four wicket victory while for
Grantham against Stamford Town , Stuart Mudie and Gareth Bennett
both made half centuries and Simon Oakes took five wickets.
Simon
Godby’s 80 helped Sleaford 2nd to 202 for seven but 72 from Robert
Dunn saw Bourne 2nd to a five wicket win.
There were
victories too for Lindum Ramblers over Skegness and Long Sutton, who beat
Moulton Harrox by three wickets.
Market
Deeping 2nd lead Division Two with maximum points from all three
games following their victory over Boston 2nd.
Spalding
2nd’s 37 run win over Cavaliers puts them second in the table while Long Sutton
2nd lie third after the closest game of the day at Heckington.
Batting
first, the visitors made 208 for six, Adam Wright with an unbeaten 89 and Danny
Sissons 73. But Heckington
re-discovered their start-of-season batting form and, led by Jake Ellis with 55,
made inroads into their target and when the overs ran out were only nine runs
short with one wicket still in hand.
Grantham 2nd
came out on top by three wickets against Friskney, both teams newly promoted
for 2014, while Vidit Matta put in a man of the match performance, hitting 71
runs for Woodlands then taking five for 28 to help his side to victory over
Baston.
In Division
Two, a hat trick from James Langford set Pinchbeck on the road to victory. Langford wiped out Claypole’s top order
leaving them 23 for three, only opener Matt Ragless surviving the onslaught.
Ragless
went on to make 54 and batsmen dug in lower down the order but the final wicket
fell on 135, a total Pinchbeck overtook for the loss of six wickets. Frieston scored a nine wicket win over Burgh
& District while Lindum 3rd beat Timberland.
On Sunday,
Claypole fared better, scoring 251 against Freiston, Steven Ryder and Chris
Dobbie each making 56. And despite
Zeeshan Saeed’s 63, Freiston were all out for 116, Luke Endley taking five
wickets.
This win
moved Claypole up to second in the division, just one point behind Freiston
with Lindum 3rd in third place, having taken maximum points from
their two games.
