BY ANN BOULTON

Boston retained their 10 point lead at the top of the South Lincolnshire & Border League Premier Division with a 20 point win over Woodhall Spa 2nd with Grantham and Lindum Ramblers sharing second place following their victories over Sleaford 2nd and Stamford respectively.
At the foot of the table, three points separate the bottom teams, Stamford, Skegness 2nd and Welby.
Skegness went down to Bourne 2nd after Tom Bentley’s seven for 32 restricted them to 169 for nine, a total Bourne overtook for the loss of five wickets.
Barry Stanway also took seven for 32 for Long Sutton who beat Belton Park to go fifth, just one point behind Bourne and three points off a top three position.
The division’s top batsman was Simon Bray who hit 93 for Lindum while in Division One, Billingborough 2nd’s M Stanley was unbeaten on 106 as his side chased down Boston 2nd’s total of 224 for nine.
This lifted Billingborough into third place behind Market Deeping 2nd, who had a two wicket win over Spalding 2nd and Grantham 2nd who defeated Woodlands.
Seb and Dom Kew contributed to Heckington’s win over bottom team Friskney, the former taking five for 28 and the latter hitting 62 runs.
The closest game in Division One was also one of the lowest scoring as Baston were bowled out for 96 by Long Sutton 2nd, Rob Simpson taking four wickets.  But Long Sutton were then devastated by John Lamin’s 10 over spell that brought him figures of six for eight as the visitors were bowled out for 84.
The day’s highest individual score came in Division Two where Danny Jackson hit 158 not out and shared an unbeaten second wicket stand of 176 with Sam Smith (72no) that took the home side to 258 for one, a total out of reach of Spalding 3rd who were bowled out for 132.
A second century in this division came from Sunil Panjwani of Freiston who scored 110 of his side’s total of 271 for five.  But the Freiston bowlers were unable to complete a 20 point victory as Lindum 3rd hung on to make 179 for nine.
Freiston share top place with Claypole, for whom Andy Attewell made 95, putting on 131 for the third wicket with Dan Pinfold (59) to help the total to 279 for nine.  Matthew Revill then took five for 22 as Belton Park 2nd were all out for 88.
