READERS LINCOLNSHIRE ECB PREMIER LEAGUE MAY 10, 2014

BY ANN BOULTON

Louth pulled off the surprise result of a rain-affected Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League weekend with victory over leaders Bracebridge Heath.
After Bracebridge won the toss and elected to bowl, rain delayed the start and later interrupted and innings in which the bowlers dominated.
Louth were all out for 123, Craig Schlebush taking four wickets and Stuart Barker top scoring with 28.  But Andy Carrington then went one better with figures of five for 33 while Stuart West took three for 10 off 33 balls to bowl the leaders out for 65, only two batsmen making double figures.
This allowed Bourne to narrow the gap at the top following a winning draw against Spalding who slipped to fourth. Stuart Airey hit 81 in his side’s 260 for five but despite Colin Cheer’s five wicket haul, Bourne were unable to bowl their opposition out and Spalding finished 176 for eight.
Woodhall Spa moved into third after recording a similar result against Sleaford.  Matt Sargeant hit 65 as Woodhall fell just two short of maximum batting points on 223 for nine.  Sri Lankan Malinga Bandara, who flew in to the country on Thursday, celebrated his arrival with three wickets and a run out and on 89 for seven, Sleaford looked beaten.
But Andy Hibberd and Nathan Titley held the innings together with a partnership of 51 and at the close Sleaford had reached 155 for eight, Hibberd unbeaten on 62.
At Skegness, the home side had reached 145 for seven against Billingborough when rain stopped play while Maninder Singh hit 63 of Grimsby’s 141 for seven at home to Lindum before the game was abandoned.  No play was possible in Market Rasen’s fixture against Market Deeping.
