TWO GAMES ONLY COMPLETED IN LINCS ECB PREMIER

READERS LINCOLNSHIRE ECB PREMIER LEAGUE

May 11 - REVIEW BY ANN BOULTON

Only two games were completed in the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League as rain hit Lincoln and the surrounding area.
Market Deeping and Sleaford benefited from the abandonments elsewhere, Deeping moving top of the table after beating Skegness and Sleaford overcoming Lindum who were reduced to 10 men when Richard Bishop broke his finger in the warm-up.
While play was possible at St Giles Avenue, albeit with a number of interruptions, the games at Hartsholme and Bracebridge Heath were abandoned, as were those at Louth and Woodhall Spa.
Outgang Lane suffered least from the wet weather, Paul Butler hitting an unbeaten 58 as Skegness reached 176-9.  Chris Jones then made 67 as, despite having to leave the field in heavy rain with only four runs needed for victory, Deeping eventually claimed a five wicket win to move them three points ahead of Grimsby and Louth.
Shaun Morris took six for 46 at the Lindum as the home side were all out for 109, a total Sleaford overtook for the loss of five wickets, Tim MacIntosh hitting 51.
This moved Sleaford up to fifth, one point behind Skegness and one ahead of Bracebridge Heath where only 14 overs were bowled.  At Woodhall, half the first innings was possible, at Louth 18 overs were bowled, but at Hartsholme, just three balls were sent down before the game was called off.

Louth 78-1 v Spalding – rain stopped play
Bracebridge Heath 49-2 v Haxey – rain stopped play
Woodhall Spa 114-3 v Grimsby – rain stopped play
