READERS LINCOLNSHIRE ECB PREMIER LEAGUE
May 11 preview BY ANN BOULTON
Last
season’s top two in the Readers
Lincolnshire ECB Premier League meet up again this
weekend as Bracebridge Heath play host to champions Haxey.
The first three weeks of the new season have seen both sides
suffer mixed fortunes, the home side lying fourth with two wins and a defeat
while Haxey have won one and lost two and are in ninth place.
Leaders Louth, with just a one-point lead over Grimsby ,
entertain Spalding at London Road and
will find the league newcomers on a high after their win over Bracebridge. This match is likely to be the battle of the
overseas players with Pakistan ’s
Azeem Ghumman shining with the bat for Louth while Zimbabwean Campbell Light is
increasing his haul of wickets for Spalding.
Grimsby are away to Woodhall Spa who have moved up to sixth
and with both sides in good batting form on an excellent Jubilee Park pitch,
this fixture could produce a high scoring game.
Another attractive match sees fifth place Market Deeping take
on Skegness who are third, with just four points separating the two. Deeping are enjoying a much improved start to
this season, particularly in the bowling department and with a full strength
side out could be challenging for a move up the table.
Bottom side Hartsholme will be aiming to put their poor start
behind them when they take on Bourne at Ashby
Avenue while Lindum, who are also
still seeking their first victory of the season are at home to Sleaford who are
nine points and three places above them.
Fixtures
