PROMOTED OUTCASTS ENJOY THIRD WIN OF SEASON

SNAITH & DISTRICT EVENING LEAGUE ROUND-UP BY GLEN SANDS

DIVISION ONE
There is still a three way tie at the top of the Snaith & District Evening League as Title holders Fishlake , Goole Town and promoted Outcasts all won for the third time from four outings this season.
Fishlake bowled Airmyn out for 90 with Nick Holah making 29 for the visitors , Richard Copley taking 3 for 19 and Steve Johnson 3 for 22 for Fishlake who then eased to 94 for 4 thanks chiefly to David Johnson who hit 35 and Josh Mason 31  , Kev Murphy picking up 3 for 19 in a valient effort for Airmyn. Goole Town were the night's biggest scorers when posting a total of 205 for 3 at Burn , Ounsley hitting 87 and Lee Hayward 78 not out after which Burn replied with a score of 76 for 3 of which Webster hit 40.  Hirst Courtney made the trip to Hirst Priory to take on unbeaten Outcasts and set them a target of 103 for 3 , Mark Donahue picking 2 for 27 for the Isle side who were guided to a seven wicket victory by Peter " Spud " Tait who made 57 not out , aided by vice captain Mark Coulman who hit 22. Finally in Division One Hensall made 126 for 4 at Askern with 27 not out from Calvert and 21 from Dillstone who was splendidly run out by Ryan Wardle only from the home side to reply with 127 for 5 , Josh Gillies hitting 37 and Charlie Kaye 31 as they won with two overs to spare ,Barker taking 2 for 12 for Hensall.

DIVISION TWO
Eggborough inflicted a first defeat of the season on Sykehouse to maintain their own unbeaten start , Sykehouse scoring 105 for 5 with 30 from Phil Sanders and 25 from Dan Greenslade , Callum Maxwell taking 2 for 11 whilst skipper Scott Tyson held a stunning catch and both youngsters Matty Dowson and Joe Bamlin were outstanding for Eggborough. Drew Pearson top scored for the Power Station side hitting 46 with good backing from man of the match Maxwell who made 25 not out. Elsewhere Carlton Towers beat Howden by 28 runs posting a total of 119 for 4 with 42 not out from Torn and 41 from Scott Woofenden then restricted Howden to 91 for 5. Sadly Pollington were unable to field a team to play against Drax Village and finally the game between Goole Firemen and Thorne Colliery was postponed around Thursday lunchtime , Thorne being advised not to travel but no reason was given for the cancellation. The league would urge Goole Firemen to contact someone on the committee so as to ascertain what thier plans are for the rest of the season hence avoiding a weekly round of texts and phone calls asking if the fixture scheduled is likely to be played.
