SO SAD THAT HYKEHAM HAVE RESIGNED
Saddest news of the new season is that Hykeham have reluctantly tendered their resignation from Lincolnshire County Cricket League. They have been suffering a player shortage for some time - not just this season - and failed to fulfil their opening two fixtures of the 2013 season. They had been part of the Lincs League for more than 40 years and ran two teams for a long time. Latterly, they have had just one team in division four. It's especially sad for the likes of Graham Poundall - a renowned bowler for decades - who, with others, has been working very hard to keep things going. We can only hope they can regroup at some future point and reapply to join.
