SOUTH LINCOLNSHIRE & BORDER CRICKET LEAGUE ROUND-UP JUNE 7 BY ANN BOULTON

Only two games were possible in the South Lincolnshire & Border League but both propelled the victors to the top of their prospective tables.
In the Premier Division, Lindum Ramblers scored a six wicket win over Welby to overtake Grantham and go 12 points ahead while in Division One, Spalding 2nd beat Woodlands and are now have a three point advantage over Market Deeping 2nd.
At Lindum, the toss went the home side’s way and Welby were invited to bat.  Only Darren Bradbury managed double figures with 22 as the visitors were all out for 44, Oliver Guilliatt and Simon Bray each taking three wickets.
Lindum then lost both openers for a duck to Michael Whatton and Fraser Sloss who each took a second wicket.  But that was to be Welby’s final success as Grant Watkins and Harry Dunn saw their side to victory.
At Woodlands, Spalding recovered from 21 for two, Mike Kearns snr and Ansar Hussain putting on 148 for the third wicket. Kearns was out for 76 but Hussain went on to make an unbeaten 76 as the innings ended on 187 for four.
In reply, Woodlands never recovered from the loss of early wickets and were all out for 106, James Hook and Tanveer Hussain taking three wickets each.
