Monday June 23rd saw the Snaith
& District Evening League Cup Semi Finals settled with both Finals scheduled
for early July, WRITES GLEN SANDS.
SNAITH LEAGUE SHIELD SEMI FINALS
Holders Goole
Town won a thriller at Askern who set a huge total of 161 for 2 with Gibbon
hitting 69 and Sash Madapatha 45 but the youthful Town team refused to let their
grip of the trophy go as they reached 164 for 3 Oliver Ounsley scoring 50 with
36 from Antony Gibbins , 35 from Oscar Sugden and 29 not out from Scott Thorpe.
They will meet Outcasts in the Final on July 7th in a repeat of last year after
they were awarded the other Semi Final when Thorne Colliery were unable to field
a team to take on the Isle side.
ARTHUR BRANT TROPHY SEMI
FINALS
Carlton Towers will play Sykehouse on July 14th in the Arthur
Brant Final , Torn top scoring with 40 in Carlton's total of 130 for 5 against
Pollington who replied with 105 all out , Welburn making 28 as Dawson picked up
4 for 18 and Hoe 3 for 4 to help their team through. Sykehouse gained an eight
wicket victory over Burn who were restricted to 98 for 7 thanks in the mainto
Calvert who hit 33 , Dave Barrett taking 2 for 19 and Davies 2 for 16 before
Davies starred with the bat as well , hitting 38 not out along with Hollin who
was unbeaten on 33 to take their team into the Final.
The venues for both
Finals will be announced at a later date.
