SNAITH EVENING LEAGUE GAMES PLAYED JUNE 26 - FROM GLEN SANDS

Things are beginning to hot up in both Divisions of the Snaith & District Evening League as teams head into the second half of the season.

SNAITH LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
Title holders Goole Town were involved in a real thriller against Outcasts which ended in a rare tie , both sides scoring 152 for 3 from their allotted overs. Jack Lupton hit 56 not out with Oliver Hoare making 45 and Matt Head 31 for the Isle side but Oscar Sugden replied with 67and Louis Sugden 43 to bring about parity and a sharing of two points each that maintains a four point gap between the teams in the table. Fishlake joined Outcasts on 13 points after beating bottom of the table Howden Town by 66 runs , setting a target of 125 for 6 thanks chiefly to Josh Mason who hit 37 before Anthony Garrigan took 4 for 5 and Tom Webster 3 for 7 when bowling Howden out for 59. The one other game in Division One saw Airmyn pick up a second win of the season when beating Askern Welfare by 71 runs , making 123 for 3 then bowling the home side out for 54.

SNAITH LEAGUE DIVISION TWO
There are no less than three teams level at the top of the Second Division table now as in form Burn and Sykehouse won again to join Carlton Towers on 17 points. Burn successfully chased down Carlton's 121 for 9 which saw Mark Holmes hit 42 and Oli Lister 33 , Jamie Bingle taking 4 for 18 and Montgomery 3 for 22 before Ray Adamson's 66 not out guided Burn home whilst the performance of the day was that of Dave Barrett for Sykehouse who scored a quite brilliant 120 not out as his side beat Hirst Courtney by 72 runs. Sykehouse totalled 187 for 5 when batting first against Hirst who replied with 115 for 4. Matthew Daniels hit 46 not out for Eggborough in their score of 78 for 5 against Hensall for whom Richard Whaley took 2 for 7 and he went on to contribute with the bat as well , making 32 not out along with Nathaniel Reeson who was unbeaten on 34 to earn Hensall a third win for the season and finally Pollington also made it to three victories when they chased down 131 for 6 set by Drax Village to claim a nine wicket victory , Keith Powell hitting a half century for Drax only for Welburn to reply with 67 not out and Lawson 32 for the visitors.

RESULT : AIRMYN win by 71 runs

HOWDEN TOWN  v  FISHLAKE

RESULT : FISHLAKE win by 66 runs
