It was a hugely disappointing weekend for n the North Lindsey Cricket League with four of the scheduled six games being postponed due to clubs being unable to fulfil their obligations!
DIVISION ONE KO CUP SEMI FINAL
Scunthorpe 4ths booked their place in the Division One KO Cup Final on August 19 when comfortably beating Barton Academy Vikings by 98 runs at Heslam Park. Town set challenging target of 253 for 5 with 87 from Ian Snowden 45 from Garmesh Chand and 41 from Ramesh Chand then the Vikings were dismissed for 155 as Nathan Jones hit 44 not out and Adam McDermott 41, Saikat Sarkar picking up 4 for 39 for Scunthorpe who strengthened their title aspirations as the match was also played for three league points.
DIVISION TWO
Hibaldstow won the top of the table match against Messingham in a low scoring game. Messingham were bowled out for 83, Andy Langford top scoring with 23 as Joe Taylor took 5 for 7 then Hibaldstow struggled to 88 for 7 with Josh Cowling making 18, Tom Robinson taking 3 for 26. The other two scheduled games were sadly forfeited as Cleethorpes were unable to raise a team to travel to Haxey and Barton 4ths found themselves in the same boat for their game at Alkborough. Both teams were deducted a point as per league rules.
DIVISION THREE
The game between Luddington and Everton 3rds was billed as a title decider but the Isle side were handed the points when Everton had to forfeit due to lack of players. It means that Luddington now need to win their one remaining game at Blyth on August 26 to clinch the league.
DIVISION THREE KO CUP SEMI FINAL
Upton cum Kexby were awarded the game against Blyth CC who were unable to raise a team to fulfill their Semi Final tie. That means the Division Three Final at Normanby Park on August 19th will be between Luddington and Upton cum Kexby.
