CAISTOR v SOUTH KELSEY AND MARKET RASEN v HORNCASTLE

Caistor Cricket Club 1st Xl moved up to 2nd spot in the Lincolnshire Premier league by taking full points from a home win over lowly South Kelsey in the Wolds derby at Brigg Road. Sahan Wijerathne with a half-century and off-spinner Tom Boryszczuk (5 wkts) took the eye for Caistor.
Opening pair Peter Briggs and Harry Boulton gave Caistor a steady start before Boulton was bowled by South Kelsey's former Cleethorpes prodigy Jack Harrison who produced a fiery spell from the Grasby end. When Saham Wijerathne came to the wicket he saw off Harrison  and put togther a well crafted innings of 70 that was the backbone of his sides total of 217 for five. It proved well beyond  South Kelsey who were all out for 137, spinner Boryszczuk having the impressive figures of 5-40.
In Division 2 Omwby's steady climb up the table continued with an 8 wkt win at Alkborough. Batting first Alkborough 2nds hit 93 which proved well short of what was needed as Owmby responded with 94 for two for their win.  Also in Division 2 title-chasing Keelby slipped to a disappointing defeat against Nettleham 2nds, despite an unbeaten 91 from Matt Bevis.Nettleham 2nds set a target of 269 for seven (Curtis 77, Grocott 62) that was always going to be difficult to pass , Keelby's 206 for six ( Bevis 91 not out) was 63 runs short.
Caistor 2nds look in increasing trouble near the foot of Division 2 and will be hard pressed to avoid relegation. Batting first the Caistor 2nds total of 189 for six  was hugely indebted to Mark Gowshall's 81, but Grimsby Town 2nds got the better of the Caistor attack when they replied, reaching their target on 190 for six.
In Division 3 South Kelsey 2nds who have struggled this year got off the bottom spot after a home win over Broughton 2nds which owed much to a half-century by Rob Denniss and a five-wicket haul from Ian Dye. Kelsey 2nds posted an impressive 170 for nine (Denniss 59) with Broughton 2nds falling 14 runs short on 156 (Dye 5-46).
In Division 3 top of the table Hibaldstow go marching on, this time seeing of  Barton Town 2nds with consumate ease. The home side were all out for a paltry 84 (Pullan 8-31) with  Hibaldstow replying with 85 for two (Thomas 50) for a comfortable 8 wicket win.
