As the lead
changed at the top of Division One of the South Lincolnshire & Border
League, Nathan Garfoot was making his own news in Division Two.
The
Billingborough 2nd batsman hit a massive 195, which included 17
sixes and 12 fours, to take his side’s total to 314 for seven against
Heckington who replied with 142 for six.
In the top
division, just one wicket remained when Lindum Ramblers overtook
Billingborough’s total – but that slender margin altered the look of the table.
Lindum
stayed fourth but Billingborough lost the lead to Spalding who got the better
of Belton Park and are now five points ahead of
their rivals.
And third
placed Stamford stay in the running after beating Woodhall Spa 2nd
by just nine runs in the tightest game of the day.
Charles
Wright hit 53 for Woodhall while Neil Williams took five wickets for Stamford .
Richard
Hewitt hit the division’s only century, finishing 100 not out for Skegness 2nd
in their victory over Moulton Harrox.
And at the
bottom of the table, Market Deeping 2nd kept their hopes of survival
alive after an unbeaten 84 from Nick Andrews helped them to a win over Bourne 2nd.
Welby
scored a seven wicket victory over Baston to consolidate their lead at the top
of Division Two. Welby have two games in hand over Spalding 2nd
whose second position is being threatened by Stamford 2nd, also with two games
in hand.
Spalding
added to Cavaliers woes with a seven wicket win while Stamford beat Blankney, Gary Peck scoring
the division’s second century with an unbeaten 118.
In Division
Three, Friskney and Claypole are beginning to open up a gap at the top,
Friskney scoring a 10 wicket win over Grantham 2nd and Claypole
dampening Spalding 3rd’s hopes of honours with a 37 run win.
With a game
in hand over the leaders, Boston 3rd are still in with a chance of a
top two place after beating Pinchbeck, Lewis Holmes taking five wickets for
Boston.
