With their
lead cut to just seven points at the top of the Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League table following last
week’s batting collapse, Skegness have a fight on their hands to beat off their
rivals when they take on sixth placed Louth at Richmond Road.
Haxey are currently the biggest threat and they travel to Grimsby - with
Graeme Attenborough fresh from his first century in the Lincs Premier League.
Grimsby are eighth but only trail Louth by three points – and
with only 10 points separating Louth and tenth placed Market Deeping, any of
the teams in the lower half of the table could find themselves in the danger
zone.
Deeping, who are away to fifth placed Sleaford, are on level
terms with Lindum whose game away to Bracebridge Heath will prove a tough
test. However, skipper Jon Miller is
hoping to return after injury and Sri Lankan Gayan de Silva is proving a
valuable signing for Lindum.
At the bottom of the table, Hartsholme travel to Bourne
looking for a win that will keep them in touch with Boston , now
19 points ahead in 11th but still 24 behind Deeping and Lindum.
And the Mayflower team will be need to be on top form to pick
up maximum points at home to Woodhall Spa who fourth and just 10 behind Bracebridge. Jonathan Cheer needs just 12 runs to become
the first batsman past 500 for the season, the Boston opener
having leapfrogged Peter Houghton of Skegness who is on 445.
On Sunday, Bracebridge will be involved in the shorter game
when they take on Treeton CC from the South Yorkshire League and Barnsley from
the Yorkshire Premier League in the area finals of the ECB T20 Cup at Skegness
CC. Bracebridge play Treeton in the
opening match at 10am.
