FROM ANN BOULTON
A
further fund-raising event for Breast Cancer Care and the RAF Benevolent Fund
has been announced to follow the Twenty/20 match between England Women and the
RAF XI at Louth on Thursday, August 16.
A
charity dinner takes place at Kenwick Park after the match at
Louth CC’s London Road ground and will include
music, a comedian and a question-and-answer session with England captain Charlotte
Edwards.
This
is the first time the two teams have met and the match is part of East Lindsey
District Council’s East Lindsey Live programme.
The
RAF XI are the Armed Forces T20 cricket champions for the second year running,
beating the Navy and Army in a triangular tournament at the Lords and they will
provide the England team with ideal practice before they jet off to Sri Lanka
for the Women’s T20 World Championships.
Spectators, who are advised to bring a garden chair or a
deck chair, will find ample refreshments at the ground.
Entry
to the London Road Sports Ground is free but a donation of £5 would be welcomed
with all proceeds, together with profits from the dinner, being split equally
between the two charities.
