MORE CENTURIES IN THE AMAZING SMILE NORTH LINDSEY CRICKET LEAGUE

BY GLEN SANDS

Scoring hundreds is becoming almost common place in the Amazing Smile North Lindsey Cricket League with three more coming on Sunday (July 21) on the back of four only a week earlier as the runs flowed yet again.

DIVISION ONE
Matt Fowler scored 108 in just 74 deliveries as Appleby-Frodingham made 273 for 4 against rivals Scunthorpe Town at Heslam Park, Jack Harrison hitting 53 not out and Kieran Watson 40 for the Steelmen who then bowled Town out for 115 (Jamie Brumby 27) thanks in the main to left-arm spinner George Forrester who picked up an impressive 6 for 23. Leaders Grimsby Town were due to play at Hibaldstow but the game has been rearranged to September 1 because of a class of uses at the venue.

DIVISION TWO
Outcasts remain top of Division Two following their big win against Barton Academy Vikings where Jamie Belton hit 100 not out and Oliver Coulman 66 in the Isle side's total of 223 for 4 before Graeme Fletcher took 3 for 30 and Liam McAnaney 3 for 33 when bowling the Vikings out for 85. Haxey climbed into second spot with a 96-run victory over Messingham and it was their skipper Oliver Tonks who took centre stage scoring 112 not out as they set a target of 232 for 3, Josh Savage hitting his best score of 92 in that total. Then Richard Dannatt made 74 for Messingham who were bowled out for 136, Luke Allen taking 3 for 6. Luddington v Alkborough was postponed to Wednesday, August 7 as Alkborough were involved in a Lincs League's Bob Welton Cup semi-final.
