APP-FROD HAVE CLEAR LEAD AT TOP OF BROUGHTON EVENING LEAGUE

Appleby -Frodingham have opened up a six points lead at the top of the Broughton Evening League table following their 30 runs victory over Champions Broughton , Frod being reduced to 81 for 7 only to then bowl Broughton out for 51, whilst Scunthorpe Scorpions climbed into second spot when they eased to a 36 runs win at Normanby Park. Ian Snowden scored 47 and Jake Smith 25 for the Scorpions with Liam Hebblewhite taking 3 for 38 but Normanby were restricted to 109 for 8 , Jacob Render top scoring with 36  with Matt Pashley taking 3 for 25 for the visitors. Finally Barton Town racked up 139 for 4 against Luddington who made the long journey to Marsh Lane , John Knapton hitting 47 , Ian Andrew 39 and Gareth Mellers 22 not out then the Barton bowlers kept things tight early in the Isle sides innings and that proved important as Ludd finished 32 runs short of their target despite an excellent 51 ( retired ) from Darren Clark.

PREVIEW - JUNE 26
With the season now half way through now Appleby-Frodingham have a grip on the table , leading by six clear points and they will look to extend that lead when they head over to Luddington on June 26th whilst second placed Scunthorpe Scorpions entertain Barton Town at Heslam Park and finally last years winners Broughton travel to Normanby Park who gallantly look to pick up that elusive first win of the season.
