Just a reminder that this coming Monday (October 1) sees a 10-week training course for prospective cricket umpires getting under way at the Brumby Hall cricket pavilion, off Ashby Road, Scunthorpe (near the Pods leisure complex) at 7pm.
Just turn up on the night if you want to join the course - there's no need to book in advance. And if you can't make it on October 1, feel free to turn up the following Monday or the one after that.
There is no charge for the tuition which is being provided by the Scunthorpe and District Cricket Umpires' Association.
More umpires are always needed to replace those senior officials who are standing in fewer games or even retiring altogether.
